Glued to our screens and using all the digital tools available to interact with our colleagues, virtual work is moving us more and more away from human contact. How does remote work affect a company? Badly I would say. The powerhouse of every company is its people. They are the ones that create the atmosphere, give energy, and bring the company to life. In short, they are its essence. With Spain re-opening its doors to tourists in June, companies should be thinking likewise in terms of its employees.

With vaccinations on the increase, we should be mentalising ourselves to go back to the real world where we really make a difference. There is no question that we are all missing human contact. The chats in the corridor, exchanging news over a coffee in the canteen or sharing a joke are all part of everyday working life.

So let´s take our unused car out of the garage, fill up the tank and get on the motorway again. Your work colleagues need you. Your smile, your enthusiasm and good humour will inject your company and move it forward out of the depressing COVID atmosphere into a new and more positive era. Let´s shed our remote working coat and get back to our offices where the warmth of human contact awaits us.
